Warning: There Is No Ocean City Angle In This Post About The Jersey Shore
Memorial Day Meta Moment: Kids queuing up for rides on Morey's Piers in the Wildwoods, nonchalantly swiping their new MOR-EZ ticket cards under the scanners
that now stand at the entrance to each ride.
That's right, the paper tickets are gone for good, but if you've got stash in your sock drawer you want to use, you can exchange them for a card. The price points for the various ticket plans are fewer and more expensive, though you can split the tickets into different cards if you have more than one kid. And if you register the card online, not only can you replace it if it gets lost, you can reload it with more tickets when you run out, before you ever get to the boardwalk. And yes, you still get the Curley's Fries coupon.
The machines are easy to use -- which is handy since the Asian kids working the rides don't speak a lick of English, making them of little help above mutely hooking everyone into the seats and pushing the glowing green button. In case you're wondering, the Irish kids haven't been there for years and the Eastern European kids seem to work the games and have a far better command of English.
