Question About The PW Situation:
This comes from a PW parent, who is not sending her daughter to school today:
Has the school been searched?
It seems unlikely they'll find anything, given that the imposing table full of weaponry was all BB guns and air rifles. But it's obvious this kid was on the path to something, and if they're saying he tried to recruit other kids in his plan and one came forward, how do they know he didn't recruit any other kids?
Also, why is nobody mentioning that the reason this kid was bullied in school, and ultimately pulled out, is because he is "seriously obese" ? It explains a lot about the responsibility the peers of the "troubled kid" have in what happens. As this parent said to me last night, "We have to start thinking about how these kids treat each other."

I hate to say this, but you can organize all of the anti-bullying programs you want, but kids are going to torment other kids. Personally, I was picked on a lot in school, and over time, I simply had to learn how to deal with it. It totally sucked, but for some kids, it's an unavoidable part of growing up.
There are no easy answers here, but seriously, how did this get so out of control? Are kids less able to cope these days? Are there too many guns? Are parents and teachers even paying attention anymore?
